In today’s fast-paced life, self-care is something that we often tend to overlook. It is important to take care of our mind and body every day and not just when we fall sick. Indulging in anything that makes us feel good about our self can enhance our happiness.
Self-care is the key to mental, emotional and physical well-being. It is imperative to maintain a healthy relationship with our self as it produces positive feelings and boosts our confidence. Good self-care helps reduce stress and uplifts our mood.
How should I do it?
Self-care means different things to different people; you can pamper yourself in whichever way you like, that makes you happy. You must indulge in any of the self-care activities at least five times a week for 30 minutes to enhance yourself. You may do one of the self- care activities or do a combination of multiple activities. Some of the common activities include:
- Go for a run
- Take a warm shower before bed time
- Indulge in skin care such as apply a face mask, or gel
- Get a head massage
- Go to the gym
- Get 8-9 hours sleep
- Cook your favourite dish
- Watch a comedy movie
- Take a stroll in the park
- Engage in your hobby
- Read a light-hearted book
