When should I undergo therapy?

Are my problems big enough for therapy?

Do I need to be prepared with something before the counselling session?
While it is not mandatory to prepare something before your sessions, it might be beneficial if you pen down some points that you wish to discuss.
Can somebody accompany me to therapy?
We recommend attending sessions alone as it is usually easier to open up in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment. However, if you would like someone to accompany you in the session, they are welcome to join in.
Will I get advice in therapy?
Therapists work on empowering their clients. They help you make sense of your feelings, and find your own solutions. However, they may show you a number of ways in which your problems can be addressed, and thereby widen your horizon versus giving direct advice.

What is Group counselling?
Group counselling is a platform where people who share similar concerns, sit together in the presence of a counsellor, and discuss their journey, challenges and learn from each other’s experiences along with learning from the counsellor.
What is Crisis counselling?
Crisis counselling is intensive and immediate help offered to individuals, who have experienced a traumatic or life-changing event that has produced mental, physical, emotional and/or behavioral distress. It aims to reduce the intensity of the person’s reactions to the crisis, helps them cope, and provides support.

How long do I need to be in therapy before I feel better?
Therapy is tailored to each one’s requirement. The amount of time you need to give it completely depends on the issues you aim to resolve. But yes, therapy takes time and may not show results immediately.
